Tour Overview

Get ready for pick up at 09.00 am and meet your local private guide at the lobby of your hotel in Innsbruck. Lean back in the seat of your luxury tour vehicle and enjoy the ride on scenic route to the first stop, a great view point with a view to the Zugspitze, German’s highest mountain.

The King Ludwig Castle Neuwschwanstein is probably the most famous and visited sight in entire Germany. Go together with your private local guide to ‘Mary’s bridge’ the top highlight at Neuschwanstein. From the bridge you will get an outstanding view to the castle and its surrounding lakes and mountains. From the bridge it is a walk of about 20 minutes to the entrance of the castle where will be the start of the 30 minutes tour of the castle.

The final part of the tour will take you on a scenic route, along Lake Plansee to Linderhof Palace, which is smaller than Neuschwanstein, but for what it lacks in size, it makes up for in grandeur!

You will have around 30 minutes at Castle Linderhof to photograph the castle and its gorgeous grounds. The castle is about a 5-minute walk from the parking lot.

The trip will finish with a drop-off at your Innsbruck hotel after a day filled with breathtaking Bavarian Alps scenery and world-famous King Ludwig II Castles Neuschwanstein and Linderhof.

We highly recommend this tour and tour company! Patrick was our guide and driver to visit the salt mine, Berchtesgaden and the Eagle's Nest. We felt like VIPs because of his personalized attention and knowledge of the different locations and the history of them. He navigated us through the crowds of large tour groups - it will be nearly impossible for us to go back to being part of a large group on a bus after this experience! He made great recommendations and handled all the ticketing as well as the lunch reservations. We had a beautiful view at the restaurant in Berchtesgaden and the food was great. He took us right where we needed to be on time. He was always there when we exited the tour sites to take us to the next site. And we enjoyed our conversations with him as he drove! This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Gabriel picked me up right on time. She was very friendly, courteous and full of information. I am a photographer and I told her what interests me the most which is both nature and architecture. One of the reasons I chose the private tour was I knew I’d be able to adjust the itinerary if desired. Gabriel gave me several options to adjust if I wanted. In Hallstatt the town and its charm were evident everywhere. The lake and its surrounding are beautiful and well worth the trip. We decided that after Hallstatt I would take the gondola up to Obertraun which gave spectacular views of the alps. There is a trail to the five fingers lookout that provided breathtaking views in every direction. Gabriel provided great history lessons for me as well as she grew up in the area! We had a wonderful full day private tour of the Berchtesgaden/Eagles Nest area. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! A combination of stunning alpine scenery, amazing little Bavarian towns, combined with the history of the area. We were lucky enough to have Manfred as our guide who was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, very accommodating, knew his history, and a pleasure to deal with. It was a very comfortable day with a lovely car to tour around in. He went out of his way to take us on a quick detour to the see the Koenigsee area which we were very grateful for.
